What we Believe

the Bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word to humanity and that God has worked through human authorship, inspired by his Holy Spirit to present his Word to us. We believe that God has sovereignly protected the accuracy of his Word through the ages so that we have a very strong case for the reliability of Scripture.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21

Jesus Saves

We believe that every person can be saved.  It is the mission of our church to help as many people as possible to be saved. No one is too far from God or has done too much wrong that they cannot be saved.  God loves you and wants you to be saved, forgiven, the recipient of eternal life and to be in heaven for eternity.  Many people will not trust Jesus and receive his gift of salvation. Jesus is the only way to receive salvation.

Romans 10:9-15; Ephesians 4:20-24

Jesus Empowers Us by the Holy Spirit

We believe that every believer experiences the Holy Spirit and has the Spirit of God living in them from the moment of their salvation.  The Spirit guides, teaches, encourages and convicts.  We also believe that Jesus will baptize believers in the Holy Spirit, empowering them to be his witnesses.  The evidence of this baptism is speaking in tongues as described in several New Testament passages.

Acts 1:8; Luke 24:49; John 1:33; Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-47; 1 Corinthians 14:1-5; 18-19

Followers of Jesus Grow

Growing for a follower of Jesus means growing in knowledge, experience, purity and character.  As a believer in Jesus grows, they will become more like Jesus and less like the world around them.

Romans 12:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 5:23

God Heals

Through faith in Jesus Christ, God does miracles of healing.  Ultimately all believers will be totally healed in heaven. But God chooses at times to fulfill his promise of healing now and gives us a taste of his heavenly healing here on earth.

Jesus is Coming Again

Jesus came to earth the first time as a baby and grew up quietly in the small rural town of Nazareth.  Jesus is coming a second time and said that it would be soon.  We believe that his coming is marked by several events that include, the rapture of the Church, the tribulation of the world, a millennial reign, and a final judgment.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; Revelation 20:11-15; 2 Peter 3:1
